Religion: I am a Jehovah's Witness

"My beliefs offer me a refuge when things go wrong."
Walking through the streets of East Palo Alto, Paly senior Alberto Prado breaks off from the small group he is walking with and knocks on the pale blue door of a corner house. "We are going door to door to distribute publications related to the Bible," he says with a smile when the door opens. "Do you read the Bible? This magazine helps extract lessons from the Bible and relate them to real life."
If people do take interest in PradoÂ's message, he comes back for more visits. He begins a Bible study with the aid of publications by the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, the main organization of JehovahÂ's Witnesses, to teach about the religion. Afterwards, people decide if they want to be part of the religion and, if they do, they are baptized.
Prado is one of the few JehovahÂ's Witnesses at Paly. Though there are over 6 million JehovahÂ's Witnesses around the world, the religion is not very well known. The religion began in the early 1870Â's during a Bible study group led by Charles Taze Russell in Allegheny, Pennsylvania, according to http://Watchtower.org, the official JehovahÂ's Witness web site. Jehovah is one of GodÂ's names in ancient Hebrew scripure, according to the Watchtower organization. Though JehovahÂ's Witnesses are Christians, they do not believe in the Trinity. They accept God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit as separate entities.
Prado shares his religionÂ's teachings by preaching door to door two hours a week. "The purpose of a Christian congregation is to get people to know what GodÂ's purpose is, to spread the good news," he says. He preaches mostly to Spanish-speaking families. "Because most Spanish speaking people are pretty religious, most people are generally receptive," he says. Some people see preaching as an invasion of privacy, but Prado says, "I have thought about it, and it has been explained to me that preaching is akin to speaking to oneÂ's neighbors; thereÂ's no law against it, and itÂ's not a bad thing to do. We do try, however, to keep out of homes where we have been specifically told not to trespass, or where there is a sign."
Prado says his religionÂ's teachings meld well with his personality. "I like to stay neutral," he says. His opinion coincides with JehovahÂ's WitnessesÂ' belief of refraining from taking part in government and voting. "Government is here because of God," Prado says. "But it is best to stay neutral and not get involved." JehovahÂ's Witnesses are also pacificists, and do not believe in participating in war.
Another unique belief of JehovahÂ's Witnesses is that they do not accept blood transfusions. They believe the Bible says to abstain from blood. "We interpret part of the bible to say the blood is sacred," Prado says. However, other alternative methods can be used, such as fractions and non-blood plasma expanders. In addition, JehovahÂ's Witnesses do not celebrate birthdays or holidays. "We have decided that these celebrations, being of pagan and not Christian origin, shouldnÂ't be practiced by us," Prado says. "Although I hear all the time about presents and fun parties, IÂ've pretty much gotten used to not doing this and itÂ's not that much of a big deal anyway. We just like to have get-togethers whenever."
Recent Paly graduate Brittany Hampton, who is also a JehovahÂ's Witness, adds, "We donÂ't have to wait around until Christmas to get presents or remember Jesus because we receive presents throughout the year. We donÂ't have to wait around until ValentineÂ's Day to get an occasional love card because we are able to do that throughout the year. We donÂ't have to wait around for Thanksgiving in order to eat turkey and a big feast because we eat it throughout the year. Especially when I know what is behind these celebrations, it is something that I wouldnÂ't want to support, knowing that I am celebrating pagan gods."
Even though he does not celebrate holidays, Prado has many opportunities to interacts with members of his congregation. The sense of community the religion brings greatly appeals to Prado. Occasionally, he attends circuit meetings with many congregations from all over California. "My favorite part of the religion is being able to make a lot of new friends and knowing that if I begin talking to someone I know they will be nice to me," he says.
However, PradoÂ's religious beliefs do not affect his decisions in choosing friends. "Most of my friends are not JehovahÂ's Witnesses," he says. "They acknowledge that I have moral standards, but I would probably have those even if I was not a JehovahÂ's Witness. Religion is not a factor in my relationships." PradoÂ's beliefs, though, do affect how he deals with everyday situations. He is most grateful that his faith gives him hope. "I would not be where I am now without my religion because I would not have a reason to do anything," he says. Prado says his faith also helps him deal with everyday stress. "Since I know that all will be well some day, I just never let anything get to me too much," he says. "I like to believe it [the religious teachings]. It gives me hope that we can indeed live life on Earth in a good way. God can take an active part in everyoneÂ's life."
Prado feel proud when his religion sends him apart from is peers. "I have always been seen differently because of the way I act, which I think is cool," he says. "People have actually noticed that I donÂ't let negative things keep me down for too long, and all the times that this happens I say to myself, Â'yep, this is a result of where you come from. Good job.Â'"
For Prado, practicing his religion entails attending five meetings a week. He belongs to the Spanish-speaking congregation located at 429 High Street. Prado attends two meetings every Wednesday and two meetings as well as a book study on weekends. At these meetings, an orator explains the weekÂ's assigned Bible reading, and various people give presentations to practice preaching. During the second meeting, the congregation reads a newsletter published by the Watchtower "which gives us a lowdown on whatÂ's going on at a national level with all JehovahÂ's Witnesses and comes with different kinds of advice; things like how to more tactfully present a specific magazine during preaching, or addressing an issue that comes up frequently," Prado says. Usually, 200 to 350 people attend each meeting.
JehovahÂ's Witnesses tend to be very closely knit; they take an extreme interest in what other JehovahÂ's Witnesses are doing around the world. On weekends, Prado studies a religious magazine. The most popular magazines are The Watchtower and Awake. "The Watchtower is more religiously based, and explains how to apply the religion to modern life," Prado says. "Awake is broader. Journalists go all over the world and relate their stories to the glory of God."
Even though Prado is a devout JehovahÂ's Witness, he believes that his views can relate to many different religions. "Anything I would say [about the religion] would apply to any other religion," Prado says. "It is important to remember the importance of family, relationships, and humility. God is love."
It bothers Prado when people make cult references about his religion. "ItÂ's just another religion, something to believe in," he says. He feels fortunate he has something so important to him. "My faith hasnÂ't been severely tried as of yet," he says. "And I thank God for that."

------- I am not of the faith, but my daughter has been for around 13 years; she is very spiritual and is dedicated to teaching the bible. My worry is whether she will find anyone like her. I don't think so, since it seems like the boys of this faith don't have the same passion for their beliefs and are indifferent to the teachings of Jehova. I must reiterate that I am not of this faith, but my daughter is a great example of the young witnesses, and I am very proud of her.
Dear Mrs., I am a young Jehova witness. In my congregation, there are young people who are very spiritual. However, there are some youngsters who are not witnesses. There are also some who don't care. We are not all alike.
Our beliefs are very different from other religions' beliefs, and that is why we are hated and not accepted by other people. There are always young people that go and are not spiritual in any type of way, but most of the young people try to be; it is very hard to be. In this world that we are living in, it is very hard to be good and spiritual, but if we do everything in a good way and we show God (Jehova) that we try, he sees our efforts. He understands that it is not easy to be faithful to him or to not commit any sins. The world sees us like we are bad and crazy people because we preach Jehova's word and because we give warning of what the future beholds for us. What I'm trying to say is that I'm happy to be a Jehova Witness, and it doesn't matter what the world thinks about us....
Hi,
I am Adil, and I am a 25-year-old male. I am a Jehova's Witness, and I am looking for a lovely lady to marry. Please write me at adilcinar@hotmail.com.
I loved you from a distant star. I couldn't reach that far. I can't believe how close we are. When I look into your Spanish eyes. The world is so beautiful tonight
I am doing a college course and need to find out about Jehova's Witnesses. I have been asked to find out about diet, clothing, belief systems, festivals, family composition and any special childcare practices. If any one could help I would be very grateful as I am finding it difficult. Many thanks, Alex
I enjoy studying and learning about the Bible. I love having Bible studies in my home with my new friends from the Kingdom Hall I attend. One thing I like about this religion is that they're very organized. I like the fact that wherever I may be at the time I go to any Kingdom Hall and be at the place as I would be at the Kingdom Hall I attend. I also like the fact that Jehovah's Witnesses are friendly and loving people, and what Christians are truly like that?
I believe in Jehovah. It's love because he has help me in my life to be what I am today. I am proud that I have my God with me everyday and night. I thank him because he keeps me going everyday.
First of all, please spell God's name correctly in English! You write it "Jehova" in the headline, and later in the article you add the "h" at the end. Accuracy is what I am looking for, and after reading this, it appears the intention was good, but seems some of the problems with this article may stem from poor translating of what was told to the interveiwer.
There are many "almost true", and "not quite right" comments made that I feel the need to correct, out of love for Jehovah God, and the care of my worldwide brotherhood. As one brother said: "Our purpose in the ministry is to preach the good news of the God's kingdom, by means of God's word, the Bible. The Watchtower & the Awake magazine, as well as the other publications are valuable aids in learning more of the fundamentals and the deep things of the Bible. But our initial focus is to help others to see the Bible's practical use for our day and that it helps with solving problems, answers many questions, and provides hope for mankind by means of God's kingdom (of which many pray for Matt 6:10)."
We are a unified worldwide organization, following Jesus Christ as our King, remaining neutral to this world's governments, (as he instructed to be "no part of the world" awaiting God's promised Kingdom arrangement to come to earth, as it is in heaven. Although we try to remain on friendly terms with everyone, our endeavor to remain separate from the world does influence who we choose as friends, following the Biblical councel of "bad association spoils useful habits." We make it our goal to choose as friends those who share our same standards of right and wrong.
Our religion is different from other religions in so many ways! Our doctrine is strictly Bible based, requires our everyday life to be devoted to the furtherance of God's purposes. All our members are qualified as ministers also, with the responsibility & priviledge to teach others what they've learned... and so many more!
If you want to know the truth, speak with the Witnesses personally when they come to your home, don't just rely on what you read here and there. Jehovah's message for you will change your life for the better & offer you the greatest hope- you'll learn why the real Armageddon is going to be the best thing that ever happens! Ask a Jehovah's Witness why!
I am a young Jehova Witness who has been involved in the truth since I was born. And to me, Jehova Witnesses are some of the most kind and grateful people that I've been around. Jehova has shown my family a lot of love, and I feel real grateful for that.
I have been a member of the Witness' for over 18 years, I have recently discovered that "Jehovah" is not the real name of God. In the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures' title page, it gives the initials for God's name. For it to be Jehovah, it would have to be JHVH for his initials, but the initials when translated into English are YHWH, which would translate to Yahweh and not Jehovah. Could someone show me why the Wachtower Society wants to hide this?
I'm a young preacher of the good news and I wanted to give a comment online because I wanted to explain one very important factor that many people do not notice.
Jehovah's Witnesses are seen as people who interrupt people's lifes by knocking at their doors. I wanted to explain that it is a beautiful gift from Jehovah that he sends people like that to your doors because if this didn't happen, no one would survive Armageddon, which is close to happen because we are living in last days of this system of things.
Jehova's Witnesses experience your same problems; they don't have supernatural powers to avoid the problems in their lives. They are giving up their owm time to try to help you to change into a better person.
It is urgent especially now to pay attention to propheses which the Bible states, which is a great reason to start a Bible study with the Witnesses.
Do not let friends and family stop you from speaking to Jehova's Witnesses, remember it's God who will judge you. His opinion should matter more than anyone's.
I want to be one of Jehova's Witness. I really need peace in my heart. Will I get someone to love me and make me One of the witnesses? I would really like to be married to Jehova's Witness. Other people don't know what love really is.
Jehovah's Witnesses calling at your door?
Jehovah's Witnesses - Who are they and what do they believe? I have family in the Jehovah's Witnesses Naples Florida kingdom hall who practice the Watchtower JW enforced ritual shunning that I have not seen or heard from in 15 years.
The WatchTower Corporation is a media publishing, real estate development and convention sponsoring company and their literature all promotes the corporation and those goals.
Unlike in the case of Christians who are persecuted in other lands for talking about Jesus Christ, Jehovah's Witnesses are largely persecuted for following the teachings of their corporate headquarters.
When the Watchtower is held accountable for their misdeeds they scream religious 'persecution'.
The Watchtower corporation pays no municipal taxes on their buildings, without even one charity to compensate the community.
[Think! When was the last time you saw a Jehovah's Witness charity of any kind for the poor? ]
The Watchtower is big money, being one of the top 40 New York City Corporations making nearly one billion dollars a year. That's just from one of their many corporations.
Jehovah's Witnesses follow the teachings begun during the second presidency of the Watchtower, when Joseph F. Rutherford took over in a corporate flap and began changing doctrines quickly in the Watchtower belief system.
He claimed that angels directly conveyed "truth" to some of those in leadership. He coined the name "Jehovah's Witnesses" to make them stand out from being witnesses of Jesus, a typical evangelical expression (and a Biblical one).
Rutherford dumped holidays, birthdays and the 1874 date for the invisible return on Christ, and invented an "earthly class" of Witnesses, since only 144,000 can go to heaven according to their teaching.
The rest, meaning all 99.9% of Witnesses still alive, will live forever on a cleansed earth, under the rule of the Watchtower corporate headquarter leaders in heaven, who will keep them in line by local elders known as "princes."
If you have been "witnessed to" by Jehovah's Witnesses and you reject their message, you will likely die "shortly" at Armageddon with all the other non-Witnesses, since theirs is the only true religion, and (if they can live up to all the rules) they are the only ones to inhabit this "new earth."
If you believe Witnesses seem rigid now, any non-conformist during the future "cleansed earth" will be directly destroyed by their god. Even now a Witness will be disfellowshipped (excommunicated) for any one of many gaffs, such as smoking, taking a blood transfusion, or even voting.
To even vocally question the teachings of the Jehovah's Witness organization will result in complete cutting off, with family and friends usually being forbidden to talk to them.
The Watchtower is a truly Orwellian world.

Why Jehovah's Witnesses don't do Christmas and other holidays:
I was born a Jehovah's Witness, and yes we didn't celebrate Christmas.
The reason JW's don't do Christmas is because their Watchtower leaders say so. The holiday has pagan aspects to it and by rejecting it the Watchtower appears "pure."
This "demand for purity" is one of the 8 marks of a cult. Now the Watchtower can use this purity diversion to distract from their own immoral practices such as false doctrines (Jesus had his second coming in 1914).
For Alberto and the other young Hispanics who are Jehovah's Winesses, the sooner they realize that JWs are labeled a "cult," because JWs are a cult, the better.
There is a good reason that the Hispanic community is the JWs only growth "market" in the United States - just like underdeveloped Third World countries are the only places outside the U.S. where JWs are having any growth.
The Watchtower cult preys on people who are "less informed" and "undereducated" about the past history of the JW CULT.
It is no coincidence that those segments of the population with greater internet access are the same peoples who are exiting this cult in droves.
Education is the secret to a happy successful life.
The ancient Hebrew alphabet does not correspond exactly to the modern English alphabet. The four Hebrew consonants that form the divine name can be transliterated as "JHVH" or as "YHWH". Since the name "Jehovah" has long been the most common way of rendering the divine name in English, Jehovah's Witnesses see no reason to change this practice. The Watchtower Society is not "hiding this," as another writer suggests. In fact, I learned the above information by reading publications of Jehovah's Witnesses!
JWs eat like everyone else. They dress like everyone else. We are Christian.
As for the spelling of Jehovah, it varies from language to language. Another thing, well-known historians recognize that God's name is Jehovah.
Terry,
First of all, nobody is hiding anything. You can find a full examination of that issue in many JW publications.
The Divine Name is pronounced differently in various languages. In English, Jehovah is the oldest and most common form. Are you aware the Jesus' name is pronounced "Yeshua" in Hebrew? Does that mean that saying "Jesus" is wrong? Of course not.
The pronunciation of God's name is an old criticism. The important thing is to use the name. I think it's hilarious when so-called Christians complain about how the name is pronounced, but then don't use it anyway!
I was raised one of Jehovah's witness. I have been away from the organization for 3 years. Since I have left, my family and friends have shunned me. It really made me open my eyes. What about Love! That is what God is all about. God is Love! You do not see that in the organization. All you will witness in the organization is judgement and gossip.
I do not have any happy memories CULT! It makes me so unhappy to see these children in the organization. I was there at one point I know that they will never have a happy and normal childhood. I pray that God will show them the truth and they will break free from the grip of this Cult.
I am a 25 year disfellowshipped Jehovah's Witness, and I am not proud of it. I take my hat off, so to speak, to the actual Jehovah's Witnesses who have made comments here and I praise you for your continued faith in Jehovah. Never lose sight of the prize and keep steadfast in the truth always.
For those of you saying the Witnesses are a cult, you need to watch Mel Gibson's The Passion; though it doesn't tell the entire story, it gives you a good look at the persecution that Jesus suffered because he preached the word of God. They didn't like it either and called him a false prophet.
Three things: 1. Check the old King James version of the bible at Psalm 83:18 and see what it says God's name is.
2. This world is no different than in the day of Noah. He told people for a very long time that it was going to rain and the earth would flood. They laughed and called him a crazy old man till the day it started raining, then they wanted on the Ark. Things will be no different today when the end comes and people will be saying "I'm sorry I didn't know." The fact is you were given ample opportunity and didn't take it.
3. I am a heart patient who has had two open-heart surgeries. I was operated on by Dr. Denton Cooley from Houston, Texas. He is not a Witness but he does operate on Witnesses and doesn't use blood. He has found that his patients recover better and faster using an alternative. So this excuse of people dying because they didn't get blood is just unfounded.
Here's the point, anyone can use an excuse not to serve Jehovah and anyone can use the organization to say they stumbled someone out of the truth, but the plain truth is we stumble ourselves out of the truth because, as the saying goes, the grass looks greener on the other side of the fence. Isn't it amazing how much power and influence Satan has on this world just as Jesus and Jehovah warned us about.
As for me, when I first left the truth I made all kinds of excuses and blamed everyone else for my own indescretions. Now, thanks to all of your hate comments it just let me reanalyze my own mistakes and comments I have made. Jesus lead a perfect, unadulterated life on this earth and because of his beliefs he was persecuted and put to death. He was different than the rest of the world and so were his teachings. And so are his true followers: Jehovah's Witnesses. Jesus told his followers to separte themselves from the world and its practices as this is what sets them aside from paganism. How much clearer can it be put?
Jehovah comes from YHWH and the vowels found in Adonai, which means God or Lord, Germans pronounce "y" as "j" and "w" as "v" so when German scholars read the name they pronounced it as "Jehovah." That had been accepted as God's name but in order to discredit JW's people started saying his real name was Yahweh, but that is like the point already made that Jesus was really named Yeshua. It's like Carlos is Charles or Miguel and Michel are Michael, they're different languages but the important thing is accepting that God has a name as well as a title, bibles now have begun referring to him as Lord or "I am that I am," well how about i call myself "pure heavenly eagle nose" because that's what my name really means. Another thing, the JW's do participate in helping the poor in Katrina, the tsunami and all disasters as well as little everyday things like buying groceries, they just don't publicize it to the nation on the 700 Club. What people need to realize is that there are imperfect people in the organization as there are imperfect people all around the world. We read and apply the bible without guilting people into submission. It is about love although there are serious problems with those that shun there own family members but that again is imperfection reeling its ugly head.
I have been one of Jehovah's Witnesses for 35 years and I've seen and heard a lot spoken against God's people. I've read several negative articles here in this blog, particularly from those who've been disfellowshiped. Please let me say that no one is removed from the Christian congregation without every effort being made to "readjust" that one. Disfellowshipping is a biblical practice. It is not intended as a punishment, but rather as an attempt to "wake up" the person to his course contrary to God's will, and to regain him [or her] as a brother [or sister]. The Bible says that Jehovah disciplines those whom he loves, just as a good human father disciplines his fleshly children. Anyone who has been disfellowhsipped has been removed for conduct that is not acceptable from the Bible's standpoint. They are unrepentant and have refused to abandon the practice of sin. When this happens no one except those personally involved know what the offense is although there is an announcement made in the congregation that the person has been disfellowshipped. Anyone who has been disciplined in this way is free to attend all meetings of Jehovah's Witnesses. If and when they have abandoned their practice of sin, they are free to be reinstated into the congregation and are welcomed back as one would a "lost sheep." Indeed the Bible says there is more rejoicing in heaven over one sheep that is found than over the 99 that were never lost. Jehovah's organization is very loving in imitation of God and his son Jesus Christ. In fact Jesus said "by this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you have love among yourselves."
Yes,I know some people have a lot of hate for Jehova's Witnesses, and at times it is hard but we are living in harsh times. But what Jehova's witnesses offer is love, companionship, a hope that some day soon we will live in a paradise.
Wouldn't it be wonderful to live in a world that is free of pain, death, sickness, violence, wars, and much more? Well in the bible it says this in Apocolipse 21:3,4.
Although I am not yet baptised I already love God and I hope that some day in the near future I will be ready to take that step. I've been raised as a Jehova's Witness and I've seen many of my cousins leave the orginization, and from what I've seen they don't live a very happy life, some of them went to prison, had unwanted pregnancies, had husbands that treat them horribly. When you walk into a Kingdom Hall you right away feel a lot of love. People say "Hi," to you with open arms and a hand-shake; they don't treat you differently, because of the way you are dressed.
It seems that Jehova protects us from all these horrible things. These meetings teach us how to be a better son and daughter, wife, husband. How to confront everyday pressures. I am very happy to be a part of the Jehova's Witnesses' orginization, and those of you who say that this is some sort of cult well, IT'S NOT. It's just a way of life.
Since when was it crazy to follow your beliefs? It's not like we can't have any contact with people who aren't of our same religion. We are constantly spat upon and persecuted by people that don't understand our beliefs. We don't hate them for their hatred we just simply shake off their hatred and keep going.Jesus had persecution when he went out and preached. I know some of you dispise us because we knock on your doors every Saturday and Sunday. You say you have your own religion that's fine. All we're doing is encouraging you to read your Bible, and to be aware of the profecies that are being completed.
God can not tell a lie so why would he lie about a new world with peace? You have to ask yourself that. Our publications are given to you for free. If you would like to give a voluntary contribution then it is greatly appreciated. These voluntary contributions go to pulications and new congregations that are being built in different parts of the world. Not a penny goes to anyone. No we don't get paid for preaching. We do this because we love Jehova, and we want other people to go into the paradise. We work hard just like everybody else. We simlpy do this because Jesus sent us to do this in Mathew 24:14. You can compare this to your own bible if you would like to see what I am saying is true. Everything we do, publish and say is 100% based on the bible. You might say "well ever since I was little I heard that there was going to be an Armegedon, but I already have grandchildren, this so-called end of the world still hasn't came! Why should I believe you?" Well take for example Noah, he preached for 40 years warning people that there was going to be a great flood, no one beleived him because they would say that same thing, they told him he was crazy and that he should just give up. What happened when it started to rain, people started to realize that what Noah said was true, but it was to late. The reason it is taking so long to be accomplished is because, God is patient and he wants as everyone to be saved. He wants them to regret their sins and to join him.
I read in one of the comments that someone believes that the less educated races are the ones that listen to us because they don't know any better well that's not true. China is the country with the most Jehova's witnesses. We all know that the Chinese are a highly educated race. In fact, Jehova's witnesses teach people how to read and write so that they can learn better. I could go on and on about my religion explaining things to you, if you have any questions or concerns just open your door when you see Jehova's Witness. You can find us worldwide. Any country, state, city you can think of we are there.
I would have to say, this is the best web-site I have come across regarding JW's. Though I am not one of Jehovah's Witnesses, I am aware of their beliefs and practices. The more I am in this world so to speak, the more I believe the bible is our only hope and that Jehovah's Witnesses have the truth. We just have to listen. I am sure this web-site will help many. As the bible says, "you will know the truth and it will set you free."
My mom has tried to quit smoking and heavy drinking for 18 years. 2 years ago she became active with the Jehovah's Witnesses and stopped both habits in the first month, possibly the first week (I wasn't lving with her at the time) The truth has given her strength that I only wish I had.
True, I've heard some bad things about Jehova's witnesses. One person mention they are a cult, another implied they are money grubbers. I've read many articles, none of them stand up to scrutiny. Usually the fault lies with over-eager journalists or mis-conceptions (Like the one about Jehova's name) Some are purposely slanderous by disfellowshipped Witnesses. And as for the odd 2% that are actually valid, the JWs don't pretend to be perfect. They make mistakes and pray for forgiveness like any other human.
One person made a comment about the 144,000 and how the rest are going to serve them. Heck, most of them already do, and of their own volition. I've met a couple of the remnant and never seen a finer class of people. I would glady serve one of them anyday.
I could go on, but why bother. You want to know more about the witnesses, ask a witness. If nothing else you might walk away with some resolved issues or maybe a few new friends. Either way, I doubt you'll regret going to see them for yourself.
After reading all these comments, it so sad to see that JW is labeled as a "cult". If that is the case, why is it that they have 'disfellowshipping' for wrong doings?
Truely JW wouldnt let you out of their site if they are a cult. My answer to all those who commented on this page, why not do your research on religion before before you badmouth JW because you will find out that most religions goes back to pagan teachings. If you have experience unkindness among some JW, have it ever occured to you that they could be dealing with hard times or could be experiencing problems in their personal life that they appear unloving.
For the most part JW are loving people and they are not perfect. Just like other religions you are going to find some people who are unkind and loving. If you have never been to a JW Kingdom Hall, don't comment if you don't know what you are talking about.
Think about this: Because of the government and the military, you are allowed to freely be a JW. In some parts of the world you could be killed for the type of religion you practice. I respect everyone's religion. I have close friends that are JW, but I am not. I have also visited a kingdom hall but I was younger and probably wouldn't go again because the way they talk down about other religions. I don't know what else to say except all religions should focus on love and respect for one another. I don't think they are a cult. I won't bad mouth their practices just as I hope they would respect mine.
Do Jehovah Witnesses believe in funerals? I was told that they do not do nor do they attend funerals. Is this true?
I am one of a Jehova's witnesses and I really would like to talk with a Jehova's witnesses from an another country -just for a friendship. Please write me on my email: aiciubotariu@yahoo.com
Thank you.
No. Jehovah's Witnesses are not a cult. Yo soy una unbaptized publisher. My parents don't force me to go to meetings, instead give me the choice to come or not.
If I had any reason to believe that Jehovah's Witnesses were part of a cult, I would not go to the meetings regularly. However, I have chosen to stay, because, as in Jesus' day, where else am I to go.
1 John 4:1 says to test the inspired expressions, and all I have seen is truth. Jehovah's Witnesses try to do their best to follow God's word daily. If doing God's will is a trait of a cult, there isn't anything to believe in.
In no way are Jehovah's Witesses trying to shrowd their religion. They invite the people to learn more about the faith.
I have studied faiths in school, and nothing satisfies me more than being one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
A true Jehovah Witness has got to have his or her HEART willing to help others out of LOVE for the Truth and His or Her LIFE and they do That is why they keep on knocking THANKS
Hi. I'm am a seeker of Jehova. I just finished the studies, but i am not baptized. Do you know why? I just run to work and have no time, but I always pray to ja. He will answer me generall. This is my true document (?). Any one of the real jehova's witnesses of both genders (I'm not quite sure what it says from here on.) just save us really too.
Sorry fro my poor English.
Hi, you all.I have read most of the comments on this site if not all. What amazes me is the level of belief of all those exprecing their views here. I truly, respect the view of the Jehova's witnesses but I can't stand it when great multitudes of people are decieved in such a manner. Primarily I believe that the views held above have been fostered by various thing, to mention a few: family, street conversion or even peer pressure. All witnesse have been decieved by the Watch tower, which all witnesses look up to as correct and mistake free, however this is not so. Friends I have a lot to tell you but you r the one to take thei first step please write to me either at dijaotine@hotmail.com or dijaotine@yahoo.co.uk if you dont well you will never know what I have discovered , My research may be questioned but I promise you its no hollabaloo. The ball's in you court now. Am waiting. I can prove you wrong.
I understand why JW's don't celebrate birthdays and other holiday buy why do htey celebrate wedding anniversarys and wear wedding rings which have such strong symbolism to Pagan History?
Stop. Don't read this if you are not going to read it all. It amazes me how people make judgments about things they have no idea about. I don't know if the J.W. are right or not. They seem like honest people. some of my relatives are J.W.. On the other hand I have seen other religions as well. If you are ever going to comment, investigate first. go to their church for about a year and then give me some feedback. I am personally investigating several specific religions but the J.W. are my primary interest.
It amazes me that there are a number of Ex Witnesses that write negetive things on this forum.
I was disfellowshiped for over 10 yrs and found that being away from Jehovah was the worst thing I could have done.
Before I was disfellowshipped I was married and had 4 children that answered and participated in every meeting.
When I was disfellowshipped, thinking that I was right and the Elders were wrong, I left my family and left my children alone.
That was the worst mistake I have ever made in life. As I said my children were active in Bible reading and study. They each knew over 25 scriptures by heart by the age of 6.
I have since returned to my senses and reclaimed that long lost Love for Jehovah and my Savior & King Jesus Christ. I attened all meetings at my local Congregation .
Sadly, because of my actions back when my kids were young they no longer as adults attend meetings at all and are into lifestyles that belong to Satan.
Although they are now ages 20 -22 and accountable for they're actions, I must take the brunt of responsibility from what happened to them and they're faith.
i am trying to show them now that people do make mistakes and you can be forgiven for your former course of actions if you TRULY REPENT of your SINS and come back.
I blamed the Elders for yrs for what had happened to my family, but if me and ME only that maid it happen. i was Blamming Jehovah.
How foolish I've been... How FOOLISH you people that leave Jehovah and return to Satan's Dying Crappy World.
The bottom line is that you are doing what you want to do because you want to do it. Jehovah doesn't kick people from his Congregation useless you want to go.
Nor does the Organization. Thank Jehovah for the Slave Watching over us, or we would truly have NO CHANCE.
So in ending this long note to you that have left Jehovah....Stop imatating Satan in his REBELLION and imatate JESUS in WALKING with GOD (Jehovah)
Take responsibility for your own actions and stop making excuses for not serving Jehovah God!
Look at the World events and tell me that these are not the last days... WAKE UP YOU THAT HAVE LEFT Jehovah.
I am a friend of jehova witnesses.
I was one of those who would be very rude to any JW coming to my door and slamming it shut. But now, I've come to appreciate what the JW do.Each Sunday for the past three months,I and at least two of JW hold a bible study and I enjoy it very much.I must say though, that I have been a believer of God, Jesus, etc. since I was a child, and I have read the bible on my own. I have made it clear to these JW that visit me, that I will not be a JW and any attempt to convince or force me to join and visit a JW church will result in showing them to the door, never to open it for them again. They understand this and are just happy to come and visit and discuss the bible. They also understand that I will never stop celebrating the holidays or salute the flag. And if a blood transfusion is needed for me, any member of my family or a friend, then that will happen. Not once have these JW tried to force or talk me into anything. That's not their style. I can happily say that these JW and I have become friends and I look forward to many more study sessions. No matter what doctrine you you follow,it doesn't hurt to talk to someone that thinks differently. Our faith in God and Jesus should be all that matters.
Would you be willing to answer a few questions about Jehovah's witnesses for me and allow me to use you in my world religions report for college. I am not a jehovah's witness. I am just looking for someone willing to help me lean about them. Thank you, Tina
Jehovah's Witnesses maintain two official websites. http://www.watchtower.org and http://www.jw-media.org . You might phone the Mifflinville Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Watchtower Jehovah's Witnesses are silent when asked to prove their bogus CORE doctrine:That JESUS HAS ALREADY HAD HIS SECOND COMING IN 1914 and is ONLY working through their organization.
1914 (from adventist William Miller) is to a JW what Mary and/or the Trinity is to Catholics or what Joseph Smith and the golden plates are to Mormons.
1914 is the Watchtower's #1 foundation dogma and it is false, and so is all the rest of it,that only 144,000 go to heaven, the blood transfusion ban and the "commandment" to go door to door. Jehovah's Witnesses beliefs and who are they?
The Watchtower is big money, being one of the top 40 New York City Corporations making nearly one billion dollars a year. That's just from one of their many corporations.
Unlike in the case of Christians who are persecuted in other lands for talking about Jesus Christ, Jehovah's Witnesses are largely persecuted for following the teachings begun during the second presidency of the Watchtower, when Joseph F. Rutherford took over in a corporate flap and began changing doctrines quickly in the Watchtower belief system. He claimed that angels directly conveyed truth to some of those in leadership. He coined the name Jehovah's Witnesses to make them stand out from being witnesses of Jesus, a typical evangelical expression (and a Biblical one).
Rutherford dumped holidays, birthdays and the 1874 date for the invisible return on Christ, and invented an earthly class of Witnesses, since only 144,000 can go to heaven in their teaching. The rest, meaning all 99.9% of Witnesses still alive, will live forever on a cleansed earth, under the rule of the Watchtower leaders in heaven, who will keep them in line by local elders known as 'Princes'.
If you have been witnessed to by Jehovah's Witnesses and you reject their message, you will likely die shortly at Armageddon with all the other non-Witnesses, since theirs is the only true religion, and (if they can live up to all the rules) they are the only ones to inhabit this new earth. If you believe Witnesses seem rigid now, any non-conformist during the future cleansed earth will be directly destroyed by Jehovah. Even now a Witness will be disfellowshipped for any one of many gaffs, such as smoking, taking a blood transfusion, or even voting.
To even vocally question the teachings of the Watchtower will result in complete cutting off, with family and friends usually being forbidden to talk to them. The Watchtower is a truly Orwellian world.
My hope is that there will be a day in each of their lives when the Watchtower magazine is no longer needed, and they can go to college, vote for office, and contribute money and time to other, more vital causes in their community. More than likely they will then cease to be persecuted, except in a few societies more authoritarian than their own.

Mr. Prado said: "It is important to remember the importance of family, relationships, and humility. God is love."
As a former Jehovah's Witness, I couldn't agree with his statement more. A loving God would not expect a mother to shun her daughter for 25 years simply because she didn't want to be a Jehovah's Witness. I committed no sin and yet I have paid the price to have the same freedom that my mother was afforded (to change her religion from Methodist to Jehovah's Witness) the day Jehovah's Witnesses knocked on her door.
This Watchtower-imposed shunning has transcended and adversely affected more than one generation. Not only has my family shunned me, they don't know my 17 yr old son, and I have never met my sister's three kids (because she and my brother shun me as well). Mine is not an isolated incident. There are literally hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of people being shunned because of their brief association with and exodus from the Watchtower/Jehovah Witness cult.
The Watchtower organization is responsible for family genocide. Buyer beware!

Interesting that Danny Haszard talks about the truth on JW, but can't even get his own facts straight about himself. Did a web search on him. Here is a quote from him at answerbag.com under his own profile:"Danny Haszard Bangor Maine born Jehovah's Witness 1957 3rd generation.'expert witness on the Jehovah's Witness'" Here is the link: http://www.answerbag.com/profile/?id=46434 Seems like if he can't get his own information correct.
I am writing in response to article titled "Religion: I am a Jehovah's Witness", which originally appeared in Verde on February 14, 2005. The public is simply not aware of the full truth behind the Jehovah Witness cult. This organization is known all over the world for breaking up families and causing death through the blood ban. The Jehovah Witness Watchtower is a big money (billion a year) mind control operation that steals the hearts and minds of its followers. Cult members are discouraged from bettering themselves or higher education and must attend many meetings per week. Cult members are only able to focus their lives on selling books and magazines and recruiting new members. Members aren't allowed to read anything critical of the cult so they don't think for themselves.
Warning!
The Watchtower organization allows convicted pedophiles to go knocking door to door to as part of their belief requirement.
Jehovah's Witnesses have a BIG child abuse pedophile cover-up crisis.
Pedophilia is covered up in the Jehovah's Witnesses on a scale worst than the Catholic priest scandal. Not only do they deny it but the Watchtower has instructed the Kingdom Hall elders to go after all whistle-blowers.
The JW's exploit an obscure 2,000 year old bible passage and demand that there be TWO witnesses to every act of child abuse committed by a Jehovah's Witness. This fosters a code of silence and a "pedophile's paradise" in the Jehovah's Witnesses.
The 'Two Witness' Take-Down is a subterfuge exploited by Jehovah's Witnesses that is selectively enforced by elders who play favorites and fast & loose with the truth,an excuse to ignore and suppress evidence at whim.

For decades, Jehovah's Witnesses were told that college was a waste of time because the "New Order" was right around the corner. My own brother dropped out of college when my family started studying with the Watchtower cult in 1971. Today, he is an Elder, lives in poverty, unemployed and dependent on my retired father to survive. The Watchtower organization has done nothing to help him afford the necessities of life and yet he continues to spend countless hours every month going door to door, telling others that the "New Order" is right around the corner. It's so sad how this organization has ruined so many young lives.

While Charles Taze Russell did indeed start the Watch Tower magazine, and later was one of the prinicple founders of the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society, he did not intend for that corporation to be used as it was used after his death. Russell did not believe in such an organization as the Rutherford formed after Charles Taze Russell died. Joseph Rutherford gained control of the Society through deceit and legal trickery, and then used that legal entity as a basis for forming his new organization, which he later called "Jehovah's Witnesses". For the truth about Charles Taze Russell, see: http://ctr.reslight.net
What are all the Jehovah's Witnesses doing on here leaving comments? They are DISOBEYING the Watchtower Society which warns them to stay off sites like this and not come in contact with "apostates." You are going against 'God's organization.' What would an Elder say if he knew you were doing this?
Another thing: For any non-Jehovah Witness reading this who knows nothing about the Watchtower organization, if you were going to buy a car, would you believe everything the used car salesperson told you or would you look at Consumer Reports and talk to other/previous owners? Jehovah's Witnesses tell you what you want to hear and I have personally heard many of them outright lie. Be warned! Talk to people like me who have been there/done that. You may contact me through my website below.

Brenda Lee Obviously just another marketing campaign by you to sell more of your books, get a grip woman, JWs have their own minds... I have also been there and done that...
10 Million EX Jehovah's Witnesses now. There are now twice as many former Jehovah's Witnesses as there are active ones with 13,000 leaving everyday. Who are Jehovah's Witnesses? The central core dogma of the Watchtower is Jesus second coming (invisibly) in 1914 and is a lie.Jehovah's Witnesses are a spin-off of the man made Millerite movement of 1840.
A destructive cult of false teachings, that frequently result in spiritual and psychological abuse, as well as needless deaths (bogus blood transfusion ban). Yes,you can 'check out anytime you want but you can never leave',because they can and will hold your family hostage. The world has the Internet now,and there are tens of thousands of pages up from defrauded Jehovah's Witnesses like myself who have been abused by the Watchtower cult. The Watchtower is a truly Orwellian world. Learn more http://www.freeminds.org
It is the Watchtower that has heaped controversy on itself with it's arbitrary flip-flopping decisions on what "parts" aka fractions of Blood are allowed and disallowed.
If you go by the old testament it says to pour ALL the blood onto the ground as dust as it is ALL sacred to God.So,where does the Watchtower get the authority to decide what "parts" of something that is sacred can be used??
Moreover,no question it's more healthy not to put another persons blood or any body parts into your body if you don't need it.In cases of emergency trauma such as in a car crash if I lose 3-4 pints of blood I will die without an emergency transfusion there is no time for fancy modern gadgets or vitamin supplements to 'build up my blood'.
Case in point,I had a 'totalproctocolectomy' major surgery and did all the things you JW's suggest to build up and prep my body for surgery and had two pints of my own blood (forbidden by the WT) on standby that my skilled surgeon did not have to use.BUT I had 3 months to prepare for that surgery.
Some cases need immediate life-saving emergency blood transfusions and the watchtower's doctrine Say's NO.
Too, common sense says in cases where someone is gushing blood there isn't time to slowly try to bring up blood volume with expanders etc.
The Watchtower WILL excommunicate you if they find out a baptized JW has had a transfusion. To deny this and say it's a "personal conscience matter" is a lie.
They won's let you use your OWN stored blood either.
It is predicted that in possibly 10-20 years an "artificial souless blood" will be available for everybody putting an end to Red Cross collections and the blood transfusion controversy. __ Tell the truth don't be afraid,Danny Haszard born 1957 3rd generation JW

(Jehovah's Witnesses do use many products that are derived from blood banks (so called blood 'fractions') but they themselves won't donate a drop)
Great article. Well written, facts and opinions of the subject of the interview only. Mark of an excellent journalist is to report on a subject without injecting his/her bias, opinions, etc in the article. As you can see by the many comments, this subject attracts sooooo many opinions. Nice job.
Conventions are a Watchtower money maker cash cow.
The Watchtower Corporation is a multi media production and printing company, activities like summer conventions are for the purpose of promoting and raising funds for the Watchtower Corporation.
They produce books, tapes, CD's, and videos. Their main business is soliciting donations, both door to door from strangers and from their own members at Watchtower Corporation sponsored meetings.
Their second cash producing business is sponsoring events and conventions and collecting donations at those. The third equity business is the real estate development and speculating business.
A huge sub business is the soliciting and managing of the proceeds of wills, trusts, and cash assets of loyal members.
Yes,always follow the money trail and see where it leads you.
The spiritual 'rush' of the Jehovah's Witnesses watchtower conventions was all a deluded false high.
I can remember the packed out auditoriums with handicapped, wheelchair disabled all laid out on the arena floor.
What a sight to behold in the early 1960's,yes a testimony to their faith that the watchtower's promised "new system" would miraculously cure them anyday.....
Except.......It was all a LIE!

Witnesses were once fighters for certain good things in our laws, but the organization has evolved full circle into a bunch of hypocritical old men who remain in a severely retarded Victorian world where they hole up and say, "We are the only true religion!" and yet the soup stinks. They are declining the last two years in many parts of the earth due to THIS, the internet, the very thing they are encouraged to avoid because it makes them look so bad. Follow any of the links about Jehovah's Witnesses in the search engines and you will find the record of false prophecies, flip-flops in doctrine, phony dates, and bloodguilt over wrongful deaths, including those from following their ever-changing stance on blood transfusions.
Dear brothers, first of all, how are you? Me thanks to almighty Jehovah I am fine.
The best Friend we can have is Jehovah God only. The apostle Paul acknowledges Jehovah as "the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation." (2 Corinthians 1:3, 4 Jehovah himself expresses sorrow at the suffering of any of his servants. He is a God of empathy. "He himself well knows the formation of us, remembering that we are dust." (Psalm 103:14) Do you not feel attracted to Jehovah God and grateful for his loving, kind, and understanding attention? Dear brothers, I am one of a Jehovah's witnesses I would like to ask you a help, I am in tribulation situation , dear brothers and sisters contact me by this email,. I need your argent help .our true God Jehovah be with you World_oromo@hotmail.com Yours truly,
I agree with Brenda Lee,
I became a Jehovah Witness when I was still in high school and how difficult it was!!! Props to all those high school students who are witnesses and are fighting that urge to look beyond the ant hole you are put in and not be involved with the "worldly" temptations. My goal was to go to the university after high school and become a Doctor, it was brought to my attention that I shouldn't go to college that it was a waste of time because Armagedon was just around the corner and when paradise came our professions wouldn't be needed. I was told I should instead use my energy as a young lady to preach God's word and a became a full time preacher "precusora". I was disfellowship at the age of 25 for running away with a 'worldly' man. I was shunned off by all my family and best friends, my mom did not speak to me for almost a year! What kind of teaching is that? Here I am 12 years after high school going back to the university, what a waste of time listening to those brainwashers. I have been happily married for almost 10 years, while my old best friends are still out there 'chasing' the few available men there are in the nearby congregations and working at minimum wage jobs. My advise to all you young Jehovah's witnessess don't be afraid to look out of your ant hole, there is more out there than you are led to believe. It is o.k., if you truly have God in your heart and are not a hipocrat like most witnessess are you will continue to follow your morals and be successful in the meantime here and at the end with whatever God has prepared for you. If you are interested in finding out more about my story you can e-mail me at campos004@verizon.net I've never let go of God's hand and he has blessed me more than I can express.
I would like to become closer to the JW.
John 3:16-18 "For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son." Luke 24:39 "Look at my hands and feet. It is I myself! Touch me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have." I serve a living Savior who loves and cares for me. He has saved me, cleansed me, and set me free from all bondage. Everyday is a gift from God. I have been healed of disease that threatened my life. I have a real relationship with the one that loves me like no other can for I have been saved by grace. Ephesians 2:4-5 "But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in our transgressions-it is by grace you have been saved."
the information is highly appreciated
Beware else you will face Jehovahs judgement very soon I say beware you people who are disgracing the name of Gods holy people He will judge you
I have been studing with Jehoavh witness for over a year now. They have taught me how to love and respect eveyone even if they aren't one of Jehovah witness. Not once have they asked me to not talk to my famliy how don't agree with there veiws .But have taught me to respect there choice so they are not cult who ak you to leave your family.
How dare JW's not salute the flag of the United States. They don't sing or stand for the National Anthem either. This free country is the reason they even get to have their weird beliefs. If it weren't for the men and women dying for this country, you wouldn't even be here today. Show some respect!!!!! Or leave
EHaving been associated with the witnesses since 1979,disfellowshipped twice, active 15 years,I understand both sides of the story. Both times I was DFd was because I had the nerve to question the elders lieing, abusive behavior.(Who did I think I was).In my opinion all elers know about or are part of the abusive practices in use to control the congregations. Many witnesses are kind loving people who are trieing so hard to do what is right because of their love for our great God Jehovah and his son Jesus Christ. They all know that questioning the elders or organization will lead to immediate expulsion, hence loss of loved ones and life as they have known it.Some are just not strong enough to do it.So turning a blind eye and deaf ear to the brothers and sisters and CHILDREN being abused is the only thing they have the strength to do.Each one will find what their own level of intolerance is eventually. After watching this abusive organization for almost 30 years I am convinced they will cover-up and deny these abusive practices instead of glorifying Gods name and changing their manipulative, greedy ways.My involvement has helped me appreciate why since our forefathers,so many have fought and died for Freedom and being free from the WTBS has opened my eyes to that freedom Jesus Christ told us to hang on to.Gal.5:1 says "For such freedom Christ set us free .Therefore, stand fast, and do not let yourselves be confined again in a yoke of slavery.I thank all the brothers and sisters who are finally standing up and speaking out in righteousness name instead of falling for the societys ploy of "waiting on Jehovah".Why should He help us when we wont help ourselves! Thank you Dan
I have read most of the entries here. I am not a Jehovah's witness, but I wish I was. They have knocked on my door, they were invited in, I have studied the bible with them, but due to a series of unfortunate events I didn't complete my study. I do plan to make a phone call very soon, as in tomorrow. I cant do it quick enough, especially after reading some of the comments I have seen here.
Nobody has ever been nicer to me, more helpful to me, more courteous and sincere, than Jehovah's witnesses.
Never once have they asked me for money, they have driven several miles to teach me in the comfort of my own home, and the bible started opening up to me after just a "glimpse" of the truth.
Jesus Christ himself was persecuted for his beliefs and for his teachings, and the religious leaders of his time are actually the ones that had him impaled and put to death. This tells me something....
I can see the submissions that have been made here out of love and concern, and can distinguish them from the ones that have come from darkness.
It is important that we study the life of Jesus Christ, Jehovah God's perfect son and do our best to imitate his practices. Jesus is the only perfect person that ever lived, actually the only person that remained faithful until death. Adam was also Almighty God's son (Luke 3:38) but he did not remain faithful. Jesus is the "ransome" provided by God so those that truly love him, and sincirely try to abide by his laws can regain the promise of eternal life.
No sarcasm intended... Thank you all, for helping me to realize it's time I wake up and step back into the truth.
Ive been studying with Jehovah witnesses since me and my husband moved here in Sep 07. So for we have seen nothing but good qualities in these people. I have gone to Kingdom hall many times had dinner with them and even gone out with them. My husband and I both enjoy their company, but I am also very perinoid. I love my god and his son more then anyone or anything in this world and beyond, and that is why I am determind to find the truth. I pray for guidance every day one thing bothers me about the JW religion is the pursistant push to study with their books rather than just study the bible by it self. Why? I read the bible and although there are very confusing verses I still manage to get a pretty clear message from it. So why then if I pray for guidence in his word and he provides it do I need to read anything else? Especially something that a INPERFECT human created and inspired? Please give me some reason that I should countine to study with these people because I am at a point were I just dont believe anything they say anymore. I am a strong believer that if God wanted us to know the truth about something he would tell us and show us. I think thats what he is trying to do by not letting me be open to anything but the bible.
Jehovah's Witnesses beliefs:
A) They are at your door to recruit you for enslavement to their watchtower corporation, they will say that "we are just here to share a message from the Bible" this is deception right off.
B) The 'message' is their false Gospel that Jesus is ruling in heaven already since 1914.The problem with this is it's not just a cute fairy tale,Jesus warned of the false prophets who would claim "..look he is here in the wilderness,or see here he is at the temple"
C) Their anti-blood transfusion ban has killed hundreds if not thousands D) once they recruit you they will "love bomb" you in cult fashion to also recruit your family & friends or cut them off. There are many more dangers,Jehovah's Witnesses got a bad rap for good and valid reasons.
99% of the world has rejected the teachings of the Watchtower Jehovah's Witnesses, the darker truth is they are a destructive and oppressive organization. -- Danny Haszard Jehovah's Witness X 33 years http://www.freeminds.org
I get the sense that the article that appeared in the paper in not accurate. In the article, Prado, the Jehovah's Witness is directly quoted as using the word "God" six times in this short interview. A real Jehovah's Witness wouldn't be likely to use the word "God" six times in a year! Real JWs all refer to God as Jehovah as a rule. Something is fishy about this article and interview.
Victoria B. Just ask the J.W's who call on you why they want to use the particular book they have. The reason will be to do with the fact that it enables a comprehensive study of the major themes of the Bible (e.g. Who God is, Why he permits wickedness, What he's going to do about wickedness, Why we can look forward to the future, etc). The answers to all of these they will then show you in your own copy of the Bible. If you have serious doubts about anything that they say then just check up the scriptures (and their context) yourself. Paranoia is good, but don't let it control you.
Eric. Today at work during a conversation with some workmates I used the word God alot more than 6 times. There's some other things in the article that I'm doubtful over but not that.
Jehovah's Witnesses are silent when asked to prove their core creed doctrine: That JESUS HAS ALREADY HAD HIS SECOND COMING IN 1914 and is ONLY working through their organization. 1914 (from Adventist William Miller) is to a JW what Mary and/or the Trinity is to Catholics or what Joseph Smith and the golden plates are to Mormons.

13,000 leave the Watchtower organization every month, find out why.
Hi everyone,
Over this past year I have been doing some research into the Trinity and the Jehovah's Witnesses. This has led to some fascinating research, culminating in an article that I have just published.
What is really interesting is that it makes an irrefutable comparison between Jesus and God, not just by using the NIV but at the same time using the NWT...
The comparison uses colour-coded diagrams of scripture, and is hopefully easy to read and use as reference when discussing the Trinity.
The article is here: http://adoptedbygod.com/article_trinity.html
I'd love to hear any feedback and comments.
God Bless,
Andrew
It is funny how many people who are not Jehovah's Witnessess anymore expend their time and energy trying to convince others to leave the religion. Some are bitter, some are angry, some are even dellusional. True, there are some teachings that makes you question their validity (you are not forced to believe it if you dont want to believe it). As for the books, well, you can stop reading them if you'd like to. However, IF you read the Bible, and compare their teachings to ALL of the other so called "christian" religions, their interpretation is the closest that you can possibly get to the real reason the Bible even exists. About Blood, I work in the Medical field, and I have seen several hundreds die from complications due to a transfusion. Think about it... Is your Blood really similar to mine? The Genes and the DNA structures are not similar, and that's where the problem lies. Bloodless surgeries were not invented for Jehovah's Witnessess, they were invented for people of all kinds to enjoy a more secure surgery that is less riskier. As for the WTBS (WatchTower Bible Tract Society), Jehovah's Witnessess do not worship them, if they agree to the principles (which they can examine for themselves), they follow those principles. Jesus himself was accused falsely, just as Jehovah's Witnessess are now called a sect. If you read one of their books and see a quote, from an encyclopedia or another source other than the Bible or themselves, check it out, no ones going to stop you, cuz I have done the same and was disappointed to find out that they were right.
Those of who read this comment might think that I am defending the religion. I am not, and I dont need to either. You can believe in whatever you want, even a stone on the road. I have examined SEVERAL religions and have come to the following conclusion: Never let anyone blindfold you and lead you to the slaughterhouse, it is better to walk in there yourself. In other words: Granted, we are all GOING to DIE, that is just the way our human body is. Wouldn't you rather die having the most meaningful life possible and even possibly knowing what lies next? Examine ALL religions like I did. Don't just stick your head in the mud of one and drown in their quicksand. Examine, Research, and then move on to the next. Let Jehovah's Witnessess be the last you examine, why? you will see that all the things you have learned along the way with all of the other religion will fall apart, revealing the secret of the Bible's existence and it's prophecies. For those of you studying with them and having doubts, read the Bible on your own put the books aside for now. For those who have left the religion, have you found something better? If yes, then stick to it and leave all others alone (lest you fall yourselves). Many people leave the religion due to deliberately disobeying Bible principles and then getting kicked out (that's when they get bitter and go on a campaigning rampage, trying to recruit others into their frenzy).
For those who are Jehovah's Witnessess and wanna leave... Think about it some more... read articles (not from the WTB Society, nor from the Anti-Jehovah's Witnessess), read history books, ones that reveal the origin of pagan celebrations (not published by Jehovah's Witnessess), read history books about the Bible and compare with the teachings of the religion. Read other religious books to see if anything comes even close to the purpose you have had in life through your own personal study of the Bible. Or if you would rather just sit back and do nothing, go ahead and by all means do to your hearts content. If you still wanna leave, atleast do it in a polite way, pray to your god (Jehovah) for guidance and read the Bible (on your own).
Religion is of little importance in life. It is one's way of life that matters, and the principles that one excercises based on a solid foundation that you have learned on your own (not been taught by others). Yes, a religion might help you see things clearly, but really, at the end of the day, you have to do your own research because you have to put into practice what you learn, otherwise it is all a waste of time and straight-up hypocrisy. If you are one of Jehovah's Witnessess and reading this, I hope that your belief has affected your way of life and brought a good witness to your God Jehovah. Thank you for taking the time to read this personal input of mine.
Like the Bible verse Satan has blinded all of your minds, those of you who have left the truth. If you are a Jehovah's Witness, dont believe everything that apostates say, because their goal is to make the Witnessess look bad. If you research EVERY single web-site, you will come to that conclusion, because these (the apostates) are a cult of people who are dying to recruit new members into their way of thinking.
Really, from the comments on this site, it is clearly evident that all the ex-Jehovah's witnessess have nothing better to do than cry and mourn and complain over their mistakes and blaming others. Grow up people and find something productive to do with your lives. You are only getting older. Find the source of living waters while you have the time. Your sob stories about your past cannot be blamed on anyone else but you. In the past century, people were very responsible and took the responsibility for their actions in their own hands. This is a generation of lazy people who make mistakes, but blame it all on the witnessess. It is a shame that y'all have stooped down to Satans standards and continue to live that way. Just as in Noah's days, the end is extremely near. Find some real meaning in your life. Opposing and fighting against Jehovah's Witnessess will not get you anywhere in life but lost in time. Y'all seem extremely bitter, I am sure that you are all probably also disgruntled in life and suffering miserably just as your comments reflects. You CAN fight against Jehovah's Witnessess, but you will never win in your fight against Jehovah God himself. You maybe able to offer another disfellowshipped one comfort, but how can you save someone in the middle of the ocean if neither one of you knows how to swim? Jehovah God never left the Israelites, they always left him. But, he always stretched out his hands for them to return to him.
Wow - put up an article about witnesses and the crackpots come out in droves. If it's not homeboy Haszard, making his typical wild accusations, it's woe is me Lee, complaining because she upset her parents, then complained because she couldn't have things the way she wanted. She sounds like my high school class - except none of them tried to make money off of upsetting mom and dad.
And here's the real point, they want you to buy the book, pay for the consulting assistance, etc. etc. etc. Funny -
PLEASE vist their websites and ask yourself if these are the type of people you would invite to dinner. I know I wouldn't. Loudmouth, belligerant, bigots.
The one thing I've noticed about witnesses, is they know how to use the bible and reason on it. For example, andrew above notes that he can "prove" trinity from the witnesses own bible. Check out his site too. It's a joke.
From speaking to a witness, he referred me to 3 scriptures to reason on this topic.
John 10:31 - Essentially it says "I and the father are one." - Seems to prove the trinity.
John 17:20-26 - Essentially Jesus is praying for his followers to be one with him, just as he is one with the father - Clearly the followers weren't part of the trinity, so this must be one in the sense of being in agreement, having the same purpose, etc. If his followers were one with him, just as he is with his father, how couldhe be part of a trinity? And if he is part of a trinity, wouldn't the followers ALSO be part of the trinity. Pretty clear that Jesus was not preaching that he was a part of God.
Then he showed me Daniel 7:13 - This was a picture of heavenly activity. Essentually, this said - Someone like the son of man had to gain entrance to the ancient of days. So, Jesus had to gain entrance to see his father. Why would he need that, if he was part of the same entity - the trinity?
Then he challenged me to find a scripture where one of the disciples called Jesus anything other than the son of god. I couldn't.
So I went and did some independent resarch, because this can't be right - Right?
What I found was Tertullian in the second century was one of the first to promote the idea of Jesus being god. Turned out the greeks and romans thru their pagan religion were used to the idea of the gods interacting with men. So, in order to make Christianity appealing to the pagans, they began to change it. Of interest is the fact Tertullian quit the Catholic church early on as he didn't agree with them.
Origen (in the third century), also brought up the idea of trinity and promoted it heavily. Of course, he was a nut and eventually pronounced as a heretic.
This is no different from the catholic church today, which will integrate native doctrines into the catholic religion to "convert" peoples. For example - Haitian Vodou is simply a mix of West African religions with a veneer of Roman Catholicism. Nasty but true. Which brings up a questions - What would Jesus do?
If trinity was to be practiced as part of christianity, wouldn't it have been made crystal clear while Jesus was on earth? He didn't. Plain and simple.
I'm outta here. I'll let the kooks take pot shots at me while I'm gone. In the meantime, I don't think I'll invite them for a dinner at my place. All they seem to know how to do is stomp their feet and claim they are right and the rest of the world is wrong. Pathetic. Who would want dinner companions like that?
JW should I be worried. The only advice I can give you is do the research. All that you need to know is available on the internet. Don't let them discourage you from digging in to thier history, policies, and doctrinal beliefs using information other than that provided by the Watch Towe Bible and Tract Society. Thier goal is to control the information flow to you thereby controlling the outcome. This is one of the many tactics used by high control cult groups. Make yourself aware of the tactics used by high control cult groups so that you can identify those traits within the organization. Remember the goal of the organization is to establish complete control of your life so that they may create a dependency on the organization within you. Once they have accomplished that they can then have you do thier will. Your job is to establish whether this is an organization that you can place your complete trust in. What does thier track record indicate? Do yourself a huge favor and find out. When you discover the descrepanices demand that they explain them to your complete satisfaction and do not let them convince you that you need to wait on Jehovah for new light if thier is something that they can not offer a reasonable explanation for. Good luck.
Nice article, seemed to have both side represented well.
specialk: Did you even read the article, or do you just lurk the Internet looking to spew garbage? Nothing you said had anything to do with the article.
Who are Jehovah Witness?
No tolerance, the Jehovah's Witnesses are a cult because they try to cut you off from others who do not have the same beliefs, including family.
The Watchtower is an oppressive cult if there ever was one!
It's amazing they are still around after 100 years of 100% failed prophecies. Truly amazing, that they can prompt their followers to actually go door to door with a 100% bogus message.
Their Message is a Watchtower Gospel that,Jesus had his second coming in 1914 and they were the only ones who saw it and consequently the only hope for mankind.
The Watchtower is a truly Orwellian world. Mind control is a terrible thing.

having read the article and many of the comments onit, i find the animosity shown on an uplifting article to be indicative of some very agitated people. Everyone has the right to worship as they choose, yet one can be civil and kind; yet i see such vitriole and bitterness by some and deliberate distortions by others. As a Witness for over 49 years i have seen many learn the truth and sadly some leave it, but in no case was there any pressure put on anyone, they did as their free will directed them. Those who are puzzled by the principle of disfellowshipping and what they call shunning, need to research what the Bible itself says on it. Those who complain of being isolated should remember that they chose to be isolated from the congregation and they can return..or not.. as they choose.
More have died from their Watchtower spiritual and medical quackery than Jim Jones and David Koresh and the other death cults combined! Jehovah's Witnesses beliefs:
A) They are at your door to recruit you for enslavement to their watchtower corporation, they will say that "we are just here to share a message from the Bible" this is deception right off.
B) Their 'message' is a false Gospel that Jesus had his second coming in 1914.The problem with this is it's not just a cute fairy tale,Jesus warned of the false prophets who would claim "..look he is here in the wilderness,or see here he is at the temple..."
Mind control is a terrible thing.

Danny Haszard Jehovah's Witness X 33 years http://www.freeminds.org http://jehovahwitness.vox.com/
I was raised in a witness family. At the age of 15, I was tossed out on the streets one Sunday morning. They had just changed meetings to the 10 A.M. time slot, I was tired. Instead of simply missing a meeting, four people missed the meeting that day to literally beat me. This was what the elders told my family to do, a non-believer could not live under the same roof as a baptized head of household.
I've met literally thousands of Jehovah's Witness and have yet to meet one who could answer the same question I have asked. That's what the reasoning book is, an odds maker for doorway conversation. The general idea is to confuse your subject into believing there is so much content, something must be relevant.
I am sickened by the brainwashing techniques employed by the Jehovah's Witnesses. I'd be willing to say, maybe, just maybe they are not a cult, but they defiantly brainwash their subjects, especially the youth.
I know from my fathers experience, if you get in trouble with the witnesses, a large cash donation will settle the spiritual dispute.
They sell not only hope, but status, friendship, and a feeling of connection to the dead.
The next time you are at the meeting, take a good, long look at your elders.
"Those who complain of being isolated should remember that they chose to be isolated from the congregation and they can return..or not.. as they choose." -- Actually, the disfellowshipped one is not the one who is restrained to isolation. It is the remaining Witnesses that are instructed not to have any contact with former members. They are not even allowed to know why a person chose to leave the organization, in order to learn how to prevent such things. Also, I studied the Bible, and found that the instructions on disfellowshipping and shunning are somewhat different than how they are practiced by the Witnesses. For instance in 2 Cor 2 not all of the congregation shunned the wrongdoer. And 1 Cor 5 does not apply to people who have associated themselves.
no some people dont really know what he is and this is what he is, he is a god that name jehovah and with moses
If you would like more REAL and accurate info about Jehovah's Witnesses on the web be sure to check out the official web site at http://www.Watchtower.org
Why do Jehovah witnesses think that only they are going to survive the Armageddon? Ibelieve that as long as you have Jesus in yuor life and ask for forgivness and try to live holy than all of us have a chance. It bothers me alot that Jehovah witnesse come to my house nearly every month and they just keep bugging me and trying to make me one of them. I do love Jehovah God but I can not be apart of them because I don't agree with all the things they say which isn't in the Bible. Like God is love, but if you are disfellowed your family and friends can't even talk to you or even look at oyu. To me that is hate not love. And why do they jugde people when the Bible says "Only God will judge". Iam a Catholic and when they come to my home I open them with open arms. But enery time thay have to say something bad about the Catholics. Recently they told me about the priests abusing children, but they say nothing about what they do in close doors. I have read a couple of times where there where abuse by Jehovah witnesses and even in Bethel. May be I'm not in the true Religion ( Idon't know which one it true) but I certainly do not like people thinking that they are holy then judge people.
Simple fact-The Bible does not prohibit Blood transfusions. If you are bleeding to death it is more dangerous to refuse a blood transfusions than to take one.
Bloodless surgeries are great if they can be elective.1/3rd of all trauma deaths are from blood loss.
Many Jehovah's Witnesses men, women and children die every year worldwide due to blood transfusion ban.Rank & file Jehovah's Witness are indoctrinated to be scared to death of blood. FYI 1) JW's DO USE many parts aka 'fractions' aka components of blood,so if it's 'sacred' to God why the hypocritical contradiction flip-flop?
2) They USE blood collections that are donated by Red cross and others but don't donate back, more hypocrisy.
3) The Watchtower promotes and praises bloodless elective surgeries, this is a great advancement indeed.BUT it's no good to me if I am bleeding to death from a car crash and lose much of my blood volume and need EMERGENCY blood transfusion.

From a number of comments above, it is pretty clear that a number of these individuals are truly suffering. Or perhaps they have a hidden agenda and merely like to malign people. Everyone who has been educated knows that real research is not done by linking to sites on-line run by groups of dubious background that attempt to deny the facts of history or even of modern research. So below I quote reference works that can be found on-line, can be purchased directly or in any large medical library. Even if you do not accept the view of Jehovah's Witneesses about Blood form a scriptural viewpoint, then consider the medical facts. What are the FACTS that can be clearly discerned and researched? 1. People die every day whether they have blood or not. Thousands have died and overloaded health care systems worldwide because of tainted blood supplies. Hepatitis C is a potentially debilitating liver disease for which there is no cure. Toronto's Globe and Mail, of January 31, 1998, comments "as many as 60,000 Canadians may have been infected with the virus through tainted blood, which means as many as 12,000 could die as a result of blood-borne hepatitis." Check in your own country, what are the statics for hepatitis in all of its 'favors', HIV (both 1 & 2 and yet to be discovered varieties) complications and other immunological reactions. 2. A few Jehovah's Witnesses have died, not thousands. But no can truly guarantee that blood would have saved their lives. Many sites highlight erroneous conclusions and even promote that blood would have saved a cancer victim whereas no one in the medical profession would promote such therapy. 3. There are no guarantees for any surgery, procedure or therapy. Don't believe this? Check it yourself, the next time you have surgery or visit your family physician, ask your doctor what guarantees he gives for ANY procedures. 4. New Inferno November 1, 2007 said "Studies have shown that patients receiving donated blood during a transfusion meant to restore oxygen to dying tissue run a 25% chance of having a heart attack and an 8% chance of dying within a month of the blood transfusion." 5. Learn the history and why blood transfusion has become a tool of the medical profession, read "Blood: An Epic History of Medicine and Commerce" which you may find in a local library or can obtain on-line from Amazon. See who really benefits financially from this propaganda abut blood being life saving. It will also tell you why did it take so long for the blood-HIV connection to become publically well know. 6. Peter Carolan, the senior officer of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, says: "Absolute guarantees on blood supplies can never be given. There will always be new infections for which at that moment there is no test." 7. New Scientist magazine of April 28, 2008 has an article – Could Blood Transfusions cause harm? detailing the results proving the increased risk associated with such transfusions. In part it stated " A more recent study has found that in heart attack patients with haematocrits of over 25 per cent, a transfusion is associated with more than three times the risk of death or a second heart attack within 30 days compared with not having a transfusion (Journal of the American Medical Association, vol 292, p 1555). For almost 9000 patients who had heart surgery in the UK between 1996 and 2003, receiving a red cell transfusion was associated with three times the risk of dying in the following year and an almost sixfold risk of dying within 30 days of surgery compared with not receiving one. Transfusions were also associated with more infections and higher incidences of stroke, heart attack and kidney failure Ð complications usually linked to a lack of oxygen in body tissues (Circulation, vol 116, p 2544). " 8. If you like to look on-line, then instead of checking sites that you are not sure of, check out these MEDICAL sites about the use of blood: http://www.wrongdiagnosis.com/d/diseases_contagious_from_blood_transfusion/intro.htm http://health.infoniac.com/index.php?page=post&id=28 http://www.bio-medicine.org/medicine-news/Blood-Transfusion-May-Have-Contributed-Towards-Hepatitis-C-7455-1/ http://healthierhealth.blogspot.com/2007/06/read-between-lines-are-transfusions.html http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,20867,21912123-23289,00.html
We could continue with many other references but the point is clear. You don't have to be a Jehovah's Witness, no on is forced to become or remain one. The many on-line whiners cannot move on with their life and attempt to poison public opinion with half-truths, distortions, lies and other inflammatory comments to push their hidden agenda. The Nazis in Germany used the same methods in the 1930's to push their political and scientific agendas. Probably these individuals today are hiding all of the facts, but really who cares? Just because maybe they used to be a witness has no bearing on the true facts on the use of blood therapy. Why would you accept their medical opinion or advice? Don't make the mistake in not doing your own research and learning the facts before forming an opinion or seeking treatment.
I read with keen interest the coments made by those who want to support the religion of the Jehovah's Witnesses.
It is one thing to say nice things about that religion but the question is: are you really telling the truth? Perhaps most Jehovah's Witnesses are sincere when they say that they are the most loving-religion in the world. I am not judging their sincerity but rather I am judging their state of minds. All people in cultic minded religions are sincere but sincerity is not the same as true.
A Jehovah's Witness would tell that you are not qualified to talk about that religion unless you have some close association with that religion.
I was a Jehovah's Witness for over 12 years. Please don't disqualify my opinions by saying that I am an angry apostate because I am not. I have met some good people in that religion. They are some good things in that religion but permit to say that they are a lot bad things in that religon equally.
People say that this religion is a cult. That is a strong negative word. But let us reason? Let us be honest? Let us see if the Jevovah's Witnesses meet the criteria of a cult?
1. In a cult, people have elitist mentality. They think that they have a monopoly on truth. every one else is wrong.
Jehovah's Witnesses think that they are the only true relgion on earth. Every other religions are satanic.
2. In a cult, there is only conditional love.
When I was studying to be a Jehovah's Witness, I found a lot of love in that religion. People would give me the shirt off their back if I were in need. All this love was geared to get me in. Once I became a Jehovah's Witness, I was still subject to receive that same love but they were conditions attached. If I don't question my leaders, if I beleive every little and non-essential doctrines, if I put a lot of hours going door-to-door proclaiming that Jesus has already returned to earth invisibly since the year 1914, If they ask me to jump and the only thing I say is how high should I jump then yes I was still untititled to receive Christian love.
3. In a cult, there is no way out.
You have the right to be a Jehovah's Witness but nobody has the right to leave. If you leave, they try to break your marriage. You can't even go to your son or daughter's wedding. People will call you ' so called Christian-loving' names such as you are like 'a dog that returns to its own vomit'. You are a hatred apostate and so on.
4. In a cult, the leaders make a practice to wrongly prohesy about the end of the world.
Jehovah's Witnesses falsely predicted the end of the world in 1874, 1875, 1914, 1925, 1975.
In a cult, the leaders program the followers to deny past wrongdoings.
Jehovah's Witneses are programmed to deny any wrongdoings of their religion. They would tell that Jehovah's Witnesses never predicted the end of the world eventhough those false predictions are well documented in the magazines and books that they even published.
In a cult, the leaders porgram the folowers to deny current and blatant wrongdoings.
Many kids are being sexually molested in the religion of Jehovah's Witnesesses. It is clearly evident that the Jehovah's Witnesses have a serious problem of child molestation. Don't take my word for it. Check all the lawsuits that are being settled in many courts because of the clear evidence of sexual child abuse in that religion. Take a look of all court records, take a look of all nationally knowned newspapers and telivision news shows reporting many cases of sexual mololestation by grown men in that religion.
I know good Jehovah's Witnesses would rush to criticize me as being an angry apostate. All I am saying, before you do that, please do at least do a little investigation and see for yourself. Don't just try to defend your religion at any cost. You owe your loving kids at least that consideration.
I know well-trained Jehovah's Witnesses would rush to defend their religion by saying that there is the grave crime of child molestation in every religions. Granted, this might be true. But I have never heard any religions that handle this crime so badly as the Jehovah's Witnesses. If a child comes to the leaders of that religion with a complaint of sexual abuse. The leaders of that religion would not take that child seriously unless he or she has 2 witnesses who were present when the molestation occurs. Give me break. No Child molester is going to take a witness with him when he attacks a little child. Because of this silly rule, many kids are getting molested all over the world.
I am not an angry apostate. I am just telling the truth. If you do at least an honnest investigation, you will conclude that I am telling the truth.
Although I am currently not a Jehovah Witness, I never was baptized and I'm married to a non -believer .I currently do not attend Kingdom Meetings. My father is a Ministral Servant and pioneer , my mother and two little sisters are active in the truth..Being out in the world has opened my eyes to the true problems in this world. Once you been touch by Jehovah, leave him if you choose , but..You will never forget him . Alot of these people are spending time critizing Jehovah Witnesses but they forget who truly matters Jehovah God..People are imperfect full of mistakes..Jehovah Witnesses are his people but they not Jehovah..Only Jehovah reflects perfect love and justice. This is what Jehovah Witnesses preach. They preach that only god can judge us..People in this world get may get away with doing bad things now i.e..molesting , murder etc...but we must not forget the day will come when justice prevail 100% of the time. its so sad to see how people twist the truth..The more I see how people are without Jehovah in thier lives the more it makes me want to go back to him..I been non Jehovah Witness for almost 3years now I am truly starting to miss Jehovah..;-(
I am having increasing trouble staying in this cult. Please help me find a way out.
I respect the so-many opinions of worldly people but to tell you, I was once a roman catholic and I have never felt the same fulfillment that I am now feeling since I became a bible study of a Jehovah's Witness.I've learned so many things about Jehoveh God and that I know that I am secured because I believe that He is the real father of our savior Jesus Christ.Based from 2 Timothy 3:16,17; 16 All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work. And so with that I know that when I live my life according to what is said in the bible I know Im on the right way.Try to study the Bible and other publicstions of Watchtower and you'll find out that there is a better life that's waiting for everyone, if you should try to open your heart and minds, you can also experience the joy of being one of Jehova's Witnesses.I hope you will...,
Jesus said ' the Kingdom of God is like a dragnet that goes down into the sea and drags up fishes of all kinds..' Then the separation occurs ,whilst in the net. For to those who are true to worshiping Jehovah in spirit and truth, and fear him. He reveals his covenant mediated by Jesus. For Jesus came to mediate a new covenant not make a religion. Those whose worship is 'fear' of man , well they are caught and ensnared by a religion. ' All those being caught by her are going down into death."
it is very impressive as to how this young man lives his lif, as i was down the same path as him. BUT, like as thousands of JWs are leaving the faith unaware to him is because of the THOUSANDS of satanic and sexual images that have been found in the Watchtower publications. And it is these images thats make sure that he stayes as a JW.
I feel sorry for him & those who believe as he does. I will pray for his soul before it is too late for him.
I HAVE READ MOST OF THE COMMENTS WRITTEN HERE AND IT IS A DISGRACE TO KNOW HOW PEOPLE CAN ACTUALLY SPEND TIME WRITTING NEGATIVE THINGS. JEHOVA'S WITNESSES SOMETIMES GIVE UP THEIR GOOD MATERIALISTIC LIFE TO SERVE MORE TIME FOR JEHOVA. WHAT THESE PEOPLE DO IS COMMANDMENT FROM JESUS.(MATTHEW 28:19 "GO THEREFORE AND MAKE DICIPLES OF ALL THE NATIONS, BAPTIZING THEM IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER,AND OF THE SON AND OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.") FIRST OF ALL THIS LETS US SEE THAT PREACHING OR GOING DOOR TO DOOR GIVING BIBLE STUDIES WAS A DIRECT COMMANDMENT. IT ALSO LETS US SEE THAT THE FATHER(WHICH IS JEHOVA GOD)THE SON(JESUS)AND THE HOLY SPIRIT ARE 3 THINGS. THE REASON WHY PEOPLE CRITISIZE THIS IS BECAUSE THEY ARE TO BUSY GAINING MATERIALISTIC THINGS IN THIS SYSTEM OF THINGS. THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO GIVE UP WHATEVER KIND OF LIFE THEY HAVE TO SERVE JEHOVA. JEHOVA'S WITNESSE BENEFIT OUT OF THIS BECAUSE THEY ARE DOING GODS GOOD WORKS. BUT THE PEOPLE WHO THEY BRING THESE GOOD NEWS TO BENEFIT MORE. IT ISN'T JUST ANY GOOD NEWS IT'S LIFE AND HOPE WHAT THEY BRING. IT HELPS CLEAR THE FALSE POINT OF VIEW OF HELL, TRINITY,ETC. MANY PEOPLE THINK THIS IS THE ONLY LIFE GOD OFFERS. BUT WHAT WAS GOD'S PURPOSE FROM THE BEGGINING? IF IT WAS'T FOR GULLABLE, UNFAITHFUL PEOPLE LIKE EVE AND ADAM GOD'S PURPOSE WOULD HAVE WORKED FROM THE BEGGINING OF THINGS. BUT FOR LISTENING TO SATAN WE INHERITED SIN. THAT MEANS WE ARE INPERFECT PEOPLE NO MATTER WHAT RELIGION, RACE, OR CULTURE. BUT PEOPLE ARE TO BLIND TO OPEN THEIR EYES AND MIND TO SEE THAT ALL THEY ARE DOING IS REPEATING THE SAME MISTAKE ADAM AND EVE MADE. SATAN SPOKE TO EVE THROUGH A SNAKE. IN THE ACTUAL DAYS HE DOES IT THROUGH THE PEOPLE THAT SERVE HIM OR THE PEOPLE OF THE WORLD. BECAUSE THE RULER OF THIS WORLD OR THE god OF THIS SYSTEM OF THINGS IS THE DEVIL.(MATTHEW 6:24 "NO ONE CAN SLAVE FOR TWO MASTERS, FOR EITHER HE WILL HATE THE ONE AND LOVE THE OTHER OR HE WILL STICK TO THE ONE AND DESPISE THE OTHER. YOU CANNOT SALVE FOR GOD AND FOR RICHES.")(2CORINTHIANS 4:4 "AMONG WHOM THE god OF THIS SYSTEM OF THINGS HAS BLINDED THE MINDS OF THE UNBELIEVERS, THAT THE ILLUMINATION OF THE GLORIOUS GOOD NEWS ABOUT THE CHRIST, WHO IS THE IMAGE OF GOD, MIGHT NOT SHINE THROUGH.") NOW ALOT OF PEOPLE LIVE SCARED DUE TO THE FALSE INTERPRETATION OF HELL BY FALSE RELIGION. HOW IS IT POSIBLE FOR HELL TO BE AN ETERNAL TORMENTING PLACE IF JESUS WENT THERE? (ACTS 2:31 "HE SAW BEFORE HAND AND SPOKE CONCERNING THE RESURECTION OF THE CHRIST, THAT NEITHER WAS HE FORSAKEN IN HA'DES NOR DID HIS FLESH SEE CORRUPTION.")HELL- HADES,SHEOL, OR GEHENNA. ANOTHER POINT IS THAT MANY PEOPLE USE JEHOVA'S WITNESSES BELIEFS TO EXCUSE THEMSELVES AND TO HEAR WHAT THEY WANT TO HEAR. A FACT IS THAT JESUS SUFFERED ALOT BECAUSE PEOPLE INSULYED HIM, SPIT ON HIM, HIT HIM, AND EVEN WENT THROUGH HUNGER BUT HE WAS ALWAYS FIRM BECAUSE HE WAS WILLING TO DO WHATEVER GOD WANTED HIM TO DO BECAUSE HE RESPECTED AND LOVED HIS FATHER BUT HE ALSO LOVED THE PEOPLE OF THIS WORLD. THAT IS WHAT INSPIRED HIM AND HELPED HIM STAY FIRM AND STRONG WITH THE TRUTH. KKNOWING THAT BY DOING SO HE WOULD SAVE MANY LIVES AND MAKE HIS FATHER JEHOVA HAPPY. HE WAS MOVED BY LOVE. SO SHOUL WE BECAUSE WE SHOULD FOLLOW JESUS PERFECT EXAMPLE. HE BROUGHT THE GOOOD NEWS TO EVERYONE NOT ONLY TO CERTAIN PEOPLE AND THE MOSTIMPORTANT THING TO SEE IS THAT HE WENT TO THE PEOPLE HE DID'T WAIT FOR THE PEOPLE TO COME TO HIM. NOW IN QUESTION OF THE BLOOD, JEHOVA LETS US KNOW THROUGH HIS WORD THE BIBLE THAT OBEDIENCE IS BETTER THAN SACRIFICE.(1SAMUEL 15:22)IT WAS ALSO A COMMAND TO ABSTAIN FROM BLOOD IN ACTS 15:28,29. FOR EXAMPLE IF YOU WERE AN ALCOHOLIC AND THE DOCTOR TELLS YOOU TO ABSTAIN FROM ALCOHOL, IF HE TELLS YOU NOT TO DRINK IT WHY WOULD YOU PUT IT IN THROUGH VEIN? ANOTHER EXAMPLE DRUGS. IF YOU TAKE DRUGS IT WILL HAVE THE SAME OR WORSE EFFECT NO MATTER HOW YOU TAKE IT THROUGH MOUTH, NOSE, OR VEIN. SO IF IT WAS PROHIBITED TO EAT BLOOD WHY WOULD YOU INJECT IT THROUGH VEIN? OTHER THAN THESE FACTS IF THERE IS BETTER ALTERNATIVES WHY WOULD YOU GO WITH THE FIRST? DOCTORS DO BLOOD TRANFUSIONS TO AVOID DOING MORE WORK AND BECAUSE OTHER ALTERNATIVES ARE A LITTLE MORE EXPENSIVE AND THEY DON'T WANT TO LOSE MONEY. THEY WANT TO DO WHAT IS EASIER FOR THEM. ALSO IF THE IDEA OF BLOOD TRANSFUSIONS IS SO BAD WHY DO NON BELIEVERS SOMETIMES USE THIS RELIGION TO AVOID TRANSFUSIONS? ANOTHER POINT WHY DO MOST DOCTORS EXEPT TO DO NO-BLOOD OPERATIONS? THEY ARE NOT BAD PEOPLE LIKE MOST SAY THEY JUST OBEY GOD AND THEY HAVE HOPE TO SEE THESE PEOPLE AGAIN. JEHOVA LOVED THE WORLD SO MUCH HE GAVE HIS ONLY SON SO THAT PEOPLE WOULD NOT BE DESTROYED.(JOHN 3:16). SO WHY CAN'T WE APRECIATE THIS AND LEARN FROM IT. IF GOD RESURECTED JESUS WHAT MAKES YOU THINK HE WON'T DO THE SAME WITH OUR KIDS AND OURSELVES. YOU HAVE NOTHING TO LOOSE BE TRYING. HERE GOES SOME ADVICE FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE OPENED MINDED AND ARE WILLING TO TO TAKE IT. I MYSELF AM A STUDENT OF THE BIBLE PREPARING MYSELF TO BRING THE GOOD NEWS TO PEOPLE. I HAVE BEEN TO MANY RELIGIONS BUT WHY DO I KNOW THIS IS THE TRUTH? WELL BECAUSE I HAVE SEEN HOW THE PROPHECIES HAVE BEEN ACOMPLISHED. ALSO BECAUSE MY EYES HAVE BEEN UNCOVERED AND NOW I SEE THE WORLD AS IT REALLY IS. EVERYTHING IS EXPOSED TO MY EYES THANKS TO JEHOVA GOD. ALSO WHEN I USE TO PARTICIPATE WITH THE FALSE RELIGION I WAS'T SURE OF WHAT I WAS DOING OR WHY WAS I DOING IT. BUT KNOW THAT I ACTUALLY KNOW WHAT THE PURPOSE OF JEHOVA IS I AM NOT SCARED ANYMORE AND I AM CONFIDENT OF WHAT I AM SPEAKING AND BECAUSE I LOVE THE PEOPLE IN THE CONGREGATION AND ALSO THE PEOPLE OF THE WORLD THAT MOVES ME TO FOLLEW JESUS EXAMPLE AND BRING THE GOOOD NEWS TO PEOPLE SO THAT THEY CAN HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO BE SAVED ALONG WITH JEHOVAS WITNESSES. PLEASE READ THE BIBLICAL TEXTS SO THAT YOU CAN PROVE FOR YOURSELF THAT THIS IS JEHOVA'S WORD AND NOT MINE. SEE IN ISAIAH 43:12. THIS IS WHERE THE NAME JEHOVA'S WITNESS CAME FROM. THANKS IN ADVANCE TO ALL OF THOSE WHO TAKE THE TIME TO READ THIS COMMENT AND TO ALL THE BROTHERS AN SISTERS WHO DEFEND JEHOVA'S WORD TO THE END. PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO INVESTIGATE BEFORE COMMENTING ON ANYONES BELIEFS. MAY JEHOVA BE WITH YOU ALL!!!! IF YOU ARE INTERESTED VISIT http://www.Watchtower.org.
I was born into jehovah witness, when I got of age to make my own decisions and left that cult my family completely shuns me. My mother said as far as she is concerned I am dead. My farther is the overseer of the kingdom hall he has no connect with me either my sister the same. I married a worldly person as they say they had nothing to do with him. When I had my son who is now 24 years old they have nothing to do with him, because I decided I did not want to be a jw anymore. This is not Christisn love my mother has since died in 2005 we were not really speaking when she pasted she died from cancer. When I would call the house to speak to her she would not speak to me. I never stopped loving my family. I just think it is wrong the way I am treated. We as adults should respect each other decisions. We are here to have a relationship with God not with an organization. Not mindlessly walking around beleiving everything the Watchtower says. I keep them in prayer everyday. I belong to a wonderful church that teaches bible truths. They are not the only true organization, as a matter of fact they are a cult, you are not allowed to think for yourself.
i was disfellowshipped 30 years ago, my sister and her family are jws they won't talk to any of my family, my mother was one before she died in 84 she said iam so sorry for pushing you into the jws religion she talked to me she didn't stop caring and loving her daughter.
If you want to know the truth. Pray to and ask god (jehova) to give you a sign, or to lead you in the right directions. The truth is that this will only work if you pray with your heart in your hand. Ask god to give you the wisdom to follow the truth.
Someone POSING as me is using my name to disparage the Witnesses. This is why you should not believe everything you read on the internet.
I was apart for 12 years, any christmas, birthday or pagans celebrity make me feel totally happy on that times, i made many bad decisions and suffer a lot, that was my only paycheck. Now im back to the organization and I feel so thanksfull to God for reciving me back. I have no doubt that this is the truth and the place to be if you really want to be happy and do the things right, its the only thing i can say.
I am currently in a relationship with a jehova witness and I also believe that love is the only true religion. I have had problems in the past accepting her religious beliefs. I am accepting of them now because I can see the amazing girl that she is through the religious cloak.
I find it funny when the only evidence that religious followers can give you is either from religous scriptures. There are not any scriptures proven to be factual. The only reason why so many people study religious teachings is because the simply cannot accept the fact that we are born, we live and love and then we die. Now is it POSSIBLE that religion could lead you to an eternal afterlife? Sure, i'll give you that. But wouldn't that be selfish to not recycle back into the earth that we were made from? We will die a part of this earth. When? Either from a random catastrophic event brought to us by the laws of physics, or until the earth is no longer inhabitable by the human race. This is what a true open minded person sees.
